Message from our Mayor Jeff Collier:
"Mardi Gras 2017 starts right here on Dauphin Island this coming Saturday, January 28 at 1pm as the Krewe de la Dauphine celebrates its 25th
Anniversary! The parade theme is "Famous Couples" and colorful floats will include tributes to Fred & Wilma, Romeo & Juliet, Ken & Barbie
and many more of your favorite duos. The following Saturday (Feb. 4 @ 1pm) will feature the debut of the Town-sponsored People's Parade
and you are invited to join in on the fun. If you'd like to be in the parade contact town hall to receive an application. The parade will be limited
to approximately 50 units (units are not necessarily individual entries) so sign up soon. As the parades draw closer, we encourage those of
you planning to "reserve" space along Bienville Blvd. to wait until late Thursday (at the earliest) to do so. This will give the medians time to
dry out and keep the area clear for maintenance activities. In addition, please do not use items that could be hazardous to pedestrians and/or
motorists (ex. rebar, blocks, etc.). Finally, reserve only the amount of space that you plan to use as we expect large crowds for both parades.
Have a safe and enjoyable time. Happy Mardi Gras!"
